The District is making strides in its efforts to construct a permanent, memorial to legendary guitarist/singer Chuck Brown, "the Godfather of Go-Go," having issued RFPs for the design-build of the central memorial plaza and for the art installation that will serve as a reminder of his cultural legacy.
The Historic Preservation Review Board recently designated the Park View Playground and Field House a historic site. The property played an important role in integrating D.C. playgrounds.
