Sierra, the in-house magazine of the Sierra Club, has announced its seventh annual
ranking of the greenest colleges and universities in the U.S.
American University was ranked 9th on the
list, for its 30 LEED Silver buildings, the largest solar hot water system in D.C., and a generator that creates electricity from used cooking oil.
UMD College Park almost cracked the top 10, coming in 13th, and GWU ranked 23rd on the list.
