The Architect's Newspaper covers the latest developments in the D.C. building height limit debate. Congress is leading a study, along with the National Capital Planning Commission (NCPC) and the District of Columbia Office of Planning (OP), on the costs of the Height Act.
According to taller-building advocates, keeping buildings short leads to higher rents and boxier buildings, while those in favor of keeping the skyline as it is say "[t]here’s something very nice about an American city in which you do not have skyscrapers."
