Transit-oriented development is finally catching up in D.C., according to a recent report from real-estate site GlobeSt.com.
Citing developments in Bethesda, Huntington, and Herndon (the latter within walking distance of the future Herndon station on the Silver Line), GlobeSt.com says that "transit-oriented development is the new black."
A recent report from Jones Lang LaSalle says that less than 1 percent of the land in the Washington region is dedicated to walkable, transit-oriented development, though that land houses 34 percent of the area's jobs.
