David Burton, owner of
The Capital Candy Jar, competed in an episode of Rewrapped on the Food Network Wednesday.
The show's premise is that three chefs compete to recreate a famous snack—in this episode, Burton and two other chefs had to
recreate a Dunkin Donuts pumpkin spice donut.
Burton won the first round; the second round involved using a donut as an ingredient in a new dish. He made a pumpkin divinity floating island with a coffee-hazelnut creme Anglaise, but lost to a competitor who used the donuts to make a savory dish. Since the prize was a years' supply of Dunkin Donuts, maybe Burton's not feeling so bad about taking second.
Congratulations to Burton!
