Rachel is the managing editor of Elevation D.C. She also covers tech, business and science for publications nationwide. She lives in Brookland with her husband, who builds robots in his spare time.
Rachel has written for
Inc.,
CNNMoney,
ScientificAmerican.com, National Geographic News and others. She also helped launch and manage a blog about jobs and jobseeking in the media for
Mediabistro.com, and has edited and produced the careers and continuing education section for the Washington Post
Express. (She's also the somewhat wicked mind behind
Express's By Invitation Only, the weddings page.)
Rachel enjoys cooking, reading classic novels (try
Middlemarch; you won't regret it), and knitting/crochet. Her crochet has been displayed in the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History (it's cool,
it was an unjuried show about coral). When she's not being a homebody, she's tasting local D.C. brews or enjoying the eats at any of D.C.'s amazing restaurants.
