A long-planned apartment complex at 455 I St NW received a building permit last month. The 165,000-square-foot building in Mount Vernon Triangle will have 174 apartments, a rooftop pool, 2,800 square feet of retail on the ground floor and underground parking. Chicago developer
Equity Residential has hired
Hickok Cole Architects to design the building, reusing an existing two-story auto repair shop and two four-story townhouses on the site. The $57 million project has been in the works since 2012.
