The DC Board of Zoning Adjustment approved a request last month allow the expansion of an apartment building at 1012 Harvard St. NE from four to 10 units.
The developer, 1012 Harvard Street LLC, proposes to add two stories to the existing two-story building located midway between 11th St. and Sherman Avenue and facing Harvard Street.
The request was for a variance from off-street parking requirements for five additional parking spaces. The developer is providing three spaces and requested relief from two spaces because of the configuration of the lot. The approval was granted on condition that the developer undertakes transportation measures for first-time tenants such as a one-time bike helmet offer, one-time one-year bike or car share membership and $100 SmarTrip card.
