The next phase of the Monroe Street Market project is getting underway; D.C. last week issued building permits for a handful of townhomes in the 600 block of Kearny Street NE, five townhouses in the 600 block of Lawrence Street NE and at 3302 7th Street NE.
"Gallery Towns" is phase II of Bozzuto Homes’ Monroe Street Market project south of the Catholic University campus and next to the Brookland-CUA metro station. Each townhouse will be three stories, about 1,800 square feet and have rooftop terraces and brick-front elevations. They will
start at $700,000, slightly higher than the neighborhood's median sales price.
When Monroe Street Market is finished (as much of it is), the $200 million project will have 720 residential units, ground-floor retail, artists’ units, community arts center and parking spaces.
