Social Tables is hosting a lunch and learn session on starting a career in D.C. Tech. A few spaces remain. Participants should bring copies of their resumes with them. Networking
Early riser? Head on over to NoVa's Tech Breakfast, grab a bagel and shmear and listen to pitches from five startups in various stages of, well, starting up. The next D.C. Tech Meetup is coming.These meetups tend to be well attended (think 600+ of your closest D.C. tech community friends) and feature short pitches from roughly 10 startups in the scene with a little time for Q&A. Giving Back
Capital One Technology is hosting a C4C (Creating for Communities) hackathon at 1776. Local developers and designers will come together to "refresh" websites for two previously selected nonprofit organizations. Saturday, Sept. 6, 12 to 6 p.m., 1776. Free. RSVP and full details here.

Education
Feel the need to join the masses going back to school, if only for a day? Head over to Gallaudet University and immerse yourself in D.C.'s Day of Learning. A panoply of people and topics await across six different classrooms over six hours. One track that might be of interest to some D.C. entrepreneurs? Social Change: a Group Conversation, a session on Imagining DC: 2034, and a capstone Q&A with Ian MacKaye, activist and cofounder of D.C.-based Dischord Records. Need to blow off some proverbial steam after listening to your coworker drum on his desk all month long? Head over to Tech in Motion's End of Summer Mixer. on Wednesday, August 27 at 6 p.m. at Capitale in NW for drinks, networking and a long and lingering look toward Labor Day.
