According to
data compiled by BeyondDC, the District has slipped to the #2 spot in bikesharing (as measured by the number of stations), second only to New York's.
If you look at the number of stations per capita, however, D.C. is of course far ahead of New York.
"At this point, it’s fair to say we’re no longer in the pioneering period. Any city that still doesn’t have bikesharing is beginning to fall behind," writes BeyondDC's Dan Malouff.
