Chef Nick Stefanelli intends to open a restaurant, Masseria, at 1340 4th Street NE in Union Market this summer, according to a press release. The Italian-themed restaurant will seat 60. It will have an exhibition kitchen and outdoor seating. It is the first solo venture for Stefanelli, formerly of Bibiana. The general manager and sommelier is David Kurka, formerly of Brabo and CityZen; the head bartender is Julien-Pierre Bourgon, formerly of PX.
